Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about annual compliance costs and obligations for Panama corporations
For companies newly formed through Expanship, the first year of compliance is already covered as part of your incorporation. The annual compliance fee kicks in starting from year two. If you're moving an existing Panama S.A. over to us, the package takes effect right away once the transfer is complete.
Yes — the price shown is exactly what you pay. There are no setup fees, service charges, or surprise add-ons. Government fees such as the Tasa Única are already factored into the package. We take a straightforward approach to pricing because we believe clarity upfront is essential for a lasting client relationship.
Bank transfer is our preferred method and generally the most straightforward option. We also support debit and credit card payments. Cryptocurrency is not accepted at this time. After confirming your order, you'll receive an invoice with full payment details.
The Tasa Única (annual franchise tax of US$300) is due based on your company's incorporation date — by July 15 for companies formed in the first half of the year, and by January 15 for those formed in the second half. A late penalty of US$50 applies initially, escalating to US$300 for each additional missed period. After three consecutive years of non-payment, the Public Registry can suspend your company's corporate rights. Our compliance calendar ensures you're always notified well ahead of every deadline.
Panama's Law 52 of 2016 (amended by Law 254 of 2021) requires every legal entity to maintain accounting records and supporting documentation for at least five years. These records — or copies — must be provided to the resident agent by April 30 each year. Failure to comply can result in fines ranging from US$5,000 to US$1,000,000 and potential suspension of corporate rights. Our package takes care of this entire process for you, ensuring records are organized, submitted on time, and properly retained.
